Lenson William Coyamin Perez
Lenson William Coyamin Perez, 31, of Poipu, passed away on March 1, 2019. He was born on April 8, 1987, in Lihue.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Julio Cruz Perez and Sophia Gonsalves (Joseph) Akita.
He is survived by mother Rebecca “Becky” (Ricky Imada) Coyamin, father Leonard and stepmother Edwina Perez, sister Leona (Les Tumpap) Perez, maternal grandparents Ross Coyamin and Frances (Donald) Rapozo, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.
Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, April 13, from 8:30 a.m., with Mass celebrated at 10 a.m., at St. Raphael Church in Koloa.
The family graciously requests no flowers. Borthwick Kauai Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mildred Setsumi Yamauchi
Mildred Setsumi Yamauchi, 81, of Kalaheo, passed away on March 13, 2019, at her home.
Born on Dec. 2, 1937, in Eleele, she was a retired postmaster.
She was preceded in death by father Katsumi Yamamoto, mother Helen Cudiamat, and brother Walter Yamamoto.
She is survived by son Kent (Esther) Yamauchi of Omao, daughters Debbie Watts of Kalaheo, Lisa (Kelly) Kaauwai of Anahola, Cathy Shibuya (Eric Agena) of Lihue, grandchildren Ashlyn Yamaoka, Chase (Sharon) Watts, Kyrstin Watts, Chad Shibuya, Leslie Yamauchi, Kerry Yamauchi and Anela (Justin Bright) Kaauwai, great-grandchildren Keenan and Kyran Luis, Carter Tseu and Tytan Acob, brother Melvin (Florence) Yamamoto of Kaneohe, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation is 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at Garden Island Mortuary chapel in Lawai, with service to follow.
The family suggests casual attire and requests that flowers be omitted.

Joseph Francis Sylvester
Joseph Francis Sylvester, 97, passed peacefully at his home in Wilmington, Delaware, on March 27, 2019.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and a long-time resident of Kauai. He was a member of the Traveler’s Den golf group, and an advocate for juniors and womens golf programs in Delaware.
He was a four-time winner of the Delaware Seniors Open, and competed in the U.S. Seniors Open in 1975. He also played Class B baseball for the Yankees organization following his military service.
He is survived by children Joseph (Lee) Sylvester of Lawai, Jane Sylvester of Wilmington, Delaware, Robert (Andrea) Sylvester (Andrea) of Colfax, California, and Anthony (Cyndi) Sylvester of Wilmington, Delaware, and six grandchildren.
Eugene Henriques
Eugene Henriques, 91, of Kapaa, passed away on March 31, 2019.
Born on March 15, 1928, in Hawaii, he was a retired teacher and athletic director and served in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by wife Helen R Henriques, and children James Henriques and Eugene Henriques Jr.
He is survived by sons Manuel S. (Samantha) Henriques of Kapaa and William G, Henriques of Kapaa, daughters Cheryl A. (James) Kirby of Minnesota, Mary L. Henriques of Kapaa, Ann Henriques of Kapaa, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and brothers Lawrence (Maxine) Henriques of Washington and David (Emily) Henriques of California.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, April 10, at St. Catherine Church in Kapaa from 9:30 a.m., where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow at St. Catherine Church Cemetery.
The family suggests aloha attire.

Matsuno Matsumoto Kaohi
Matsuno Matsumoto Kaohi, 90, of Kalaheo, passed away on March 22, 2019, at her home. Born on Dec. 11, 1928, she was a seamstress for Lauhala Sportswear and enjoyed working at Joni Hana and Camp House Grill.
She was preceded in death by husband Benjamin Pupu Kaohi and her parents, Sanku and Uta Matsumoto.
She is survived by daughters Jolynn (Rodney) Chew and Janis (Eric) Kane and son Matthew Kaohi, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and sisters Naoe Ishii of Oahu and Asano Suizu of Maui.
A celebration of life will be on Monday, April 15, at 10 a.m. at the Hanapepe Hawaiian Congregational Church, with a luncheon to follow.

Randall Edward ‘Randy’ Polson
Randall Edward “Randy” Polson, 68, went to sleep in his home in Tahoe City, California, but never woke up, on Saturday, March 16, 2019.
He leaves wife Vivian (Kent), son Randall Polson, daughter Jennifer Knaak (Polson), brothers Richard Polson and Craig Polson, sisters Carell Sheehan (Polson) and Corey Bosch (Polson), cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and many, many friends.
He was born Feb. 22, 1951, to Randall Polson and Barbara Polson (Link). The eldest of five siblings, he was always in the thick of family. He grew up in San Carlos, California, graduating from San Carlos High School. He briefly attended the University of Nevada at Reno, and left to pursue entrepreneurial pursuits.
He lived many places throughout his life, but loved Lake Tahoe the most.
He had many interests, occupations and hobbies, including: boat captain, ice-cream truck driver, snorkeler, farmer, bus driver, construction contractor, sandwich, cookie and ice cream store owner, landscaper, body surfer, avid reader, and bb gun instructor.
He enjoyed being around people, and loved nothing more than a good story — hearing one or telling one. He loved his stories so much, he’d often tell them a few times. He is loved and will be missed by so many.
Francis Genichi Tafua
Francis Genichi Tafua, 40, passed away on March 26, 2019, in Honolulu.
He was born on April 28, 1978, in American Samoa.
He was a loyal front of house runner and bartender at Roy’s Eating House 1849.
He was preceded in death by father Joe Leo Tafua, and grandparents Leo and Lualuania Tafua and Genichi and Hatsuyo Kamiya.
He is survived by son Leo Garza-Tafua, mother Rachael Tafua, brother Daniel (Malia) Tafua, sisters Jonell (Vernon) Kaohelauii and Jannah Tafua, one nephew, seven nieces and one grandniece.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 13, at the Kekaha Boat House. Services will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. with the celebration of life at 4 p.m.

Paul R. Fujiyama
Paul R. Fujiyama, 60, of Kilauea, passed away on April 18, 2018, at his home. He was born on April 20, 1957. He was a landscaper at Aloha Acres.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Vanessa G. Fujiyama.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Anaina Hou Porter Pavilion in Kilauea.
