Stacie Chiba Miguel and Pillare Mukai (isn’t this a great way to start a new job?) had their hands full guiding the Chinese lions (Coach Beau Acoba of Tsunami Taiko said this was the first time he had to do the moving drums) and trying to clear the path.
Sue and Solomon Kanoho had Sue’s parents visiting and getting to experience the wild side (eight is considered a good-luck number!) of tourism, and even Wanda Shibata had out-of-town guests here for a Kauai-style Chinese New Year.
Stacie said more excitement is on tap when Manaola (they were the off-island vendor of choice during a hula hoike!) will do a pop-up event Friday through Sunday in the space across Eco Adventures.
Kimberly Hope is supposed to preview her upcoming concert of original music for violins today at the Kukui Grove Center, where Melissa McFerrin-Warack is already into Valentine’s Day (it’s coming up Thursday!) with an afternoon of keiki activities from 1 p.m.
