Chef Judy Capertina of Haole Girl Island Sweets said she’s working to open a kiosk at the Coconut MarketPlace, too — after her Valentine’s chocolate workshop coming up Feb. 12 at her bakery and kitchen located a stone’s throw from the Moloaa Bay Coffee offices in the Arzadon Industrial Park in Kapaa. Watch for it.
And Miguel Crissman is doing a chocolate demonstration during the Chef’s Demo at the Kauai Culinary Market at The Shops at Kukuiula during Valentine’s Day festivities.
In the meantime, Stacie Chiba Miguel said she’s got eight (lucky number?) strings of firecrackers to welcome the Chinese lion Friday during the Flavors of Kukuiula gathering celebrating the Year of the Boar on Friday, Feb. 8.
Melissa McFerrin-Warrack said she’s got the Chinese lion coming Sunday (it’s Super Bowl Sunday!) at noon at Kukui Grove Center (Vanna Wu of Prestige Jewelers said the Year of the Boar should be a good one).
Kudos to Jean Souza, Malia Nobrega-Olivera and Dave Sosner (he’s excited about using the new screen system for the first time) on the opening of OceanFest that continues through Feb. 23. Check out that life-like, inflatable, walk-in humpback whale while you can — today is the last day at Kukui Grove before it moves to the Lihue Public Library.
