Angela Ventura (she’ll be helping with the Kauai Gymnastics Academy free showcase at Kukui Grove Center starting at 1 p.m. today) used to hang out in the stroller while her mom Debra Ventura used to help cook at the West Kauai church. Debra was among the helpers with Becky Komaki and Priscilla Badua at the Hawaii Government Employees Association Kendall Scholarship fundraising (no kadomatsu this year) booth at the Kauai Museum’s Annual Christmas Craft Fair — kudos to Gerald Ako and Dale Shimomura for doing another bang-up job with the effort. Dr. Kelly Robb (she’s got a set of twins coming!) was looking for a tree after all that lumpia.

Kudos, too, to Lyah Kama-Drake and the entire Kauai Museum ohana (even former mayor Maryanne Kusaka was finding something good to buy) on a great annual tradition — Ray and Diane Nitta were happy to meet June and Gary Yoshinaga in person!
Carol Yotsuda (she said the former Kress building was a Dime Dairy before it became Kress) got help from Ken Nishimura, Trysen Kaneshige and Victoria Aiu (wasn’t she gallery-sitting Thursday?) in trying to finish that Kress Street wrap-around mural before the Lights on Rice Parade got underway (Hawaii Rotary District 5000 Gov. Winton Shoneman got to be one of the banner-holders!). Kudos to the Rotary Club of Kauai on another winner!
Don’t forget … this Saturday is the Waimea Lighted Christmas Parade with Esther Estes (is Hua Duncan going to be one of the emcees again?) and the West Kauai Business &Professional Association.
