Paul Moki Manoi
Paul Moki Manoi, 81, of Waimea, passed away on Nov. 17, 2018, in Waimea.
Born on June 8, 1937 in Wahiawa, he was a retired Kauai Police Department detective sergeant and was in the U.S. Air Force.
He was preceded in death by father Moses Manoi Jr. and mother Mabel Rittmeister.
He is survived by lifetime companion Diane Monoi of Waimea, son Ryan Manoi of Waimea, daughters Rochelle Manoi of Lihue, Char MaCabe of Kekaha, Cherrie (Kaluna) Manoi of Waimea, Uilani Manoi of Lihue and Hi’ilei Manoi of Wailua, grandchildren Kaimana, Kaulana, Shana, Keola, Joslin, Kahalewai, Nahe, Pono, Ioane, Iliana, Mehana, Ulalena and Lokela, great-grandchildren Kaisen, DJ, Matai, Kingsley-Elijah, Kairie and Liam, sister Angeline (Ray) Keeney of California, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousin.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Nov. 30, at the Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints Kekaha Ward from 9 to 10:45 a.m., where services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe, with a luncheon to follow after burial back at the church culture hall.
The family suggests casual attire.

Pedro Redor Riopta
Pedro Redor Riopta, 94, of Hanamaulu, passed away at Wilcox Medical Center on Nov. 25, 2018. He was born in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, on June 29, 1924, and retired from Lihue Plantation Company as a tractor operator.
He was preceded in death by wife Juliet Ellasos Riopta, parents Gavino and Maria Riopta, father-in-law Silverio Ellasos, mother-in-law Suzy Salvacion, sisters Isabel Abaya, Marcelina Riopta and Ceverina Riopta, brothers Angel Riopta, Castor Riopta, Ceferino Riopta and Domingo Riopta, and brother-in-law Jose Ragasa.
He is survived by son Peter (Esther) Riopta, grandchildren Brooke (Travis) Aguinaldo, Amber (Emerson) Amorin, Casie Riopta and Donovan Riopta, great-grandchildren Cainan Aguinaldo, Caitlyn Aguinaldo, Aryana Amorin, Alexia Amorin and Wana‘ao O‘ Kealoha Na‘ihe, brother Emidgio (Gloria) Riopta, sisters Alejandra Riopta and Jacinta Ragasa, sisters-in-law Violet and Veronica Riopta, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall, with viewing from 9 a.m. and services celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
