LIHUE — The Team Lihue Warriors finished first, and second during the King of Kalena 3-on-3 keiki basketball tournament on Saturday at Kalena Park.
LIHUE — The Team Lihue Warriors finished first, and second during the King of Kalena 3-on-3 keiki basketball tournament on Saturday at Kalena Park.
The Warriors’ 5th and 6th grade boys team beat out Papalina Black in the championship game to capture gold for that age division. Papalina Orange finished third in the competition that included the Kauai Thunder, Nakoa Green, and Nakoa Gray.
Team members included Jaden Kerr, Kanaloa Yasutake, Telven Borales, Zyren Wade-Padilla, and Maka‘ala Diego who took the court following the Wilcox Health Walk Around the Block With A Doc to open the Rice Street Block Party.
Following play for the 5/6th grade division, the Team Lihue Warriors 7th and 8th grade boys settled for silver in the division after falling to Na Koa Black during the title game. Bronze medal honors went to the Lihue Lakers Yellow squad.
Team members in the Warriors’ 7/8th grade team included Nainoa Tolentino, Darrian Andres, Elijah Lautej, and Syrus Delos Reyes.
