LIHUE — Retired and Senior Volunteer Program Advisory Council members gathered gift bags that were delivered to homebound veterans in appreciation for their sacrifice and service in time for Veterans Day.
These gifts were presented to the county Agency on Elderly Affairs Information &Referral staff and representatives of the Kauai Veterans Council on Nov. 9.
The gift bags included gift cards, letters of appreciation from the council, AEA and RSVP info brochures, a RSVP lunch tote and an AEA plastic portfolio protector.
The gifts were purchased thanks to a donation from the RSVP Advisory Council and through efforts of a collection drive held during the month of September as part of the Corporation for National and Community Service Sept. 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance.
Kauai RSVP is a SeniorCorps program of the Corporation for National and Community Service and is sponsored by the county AEA.
