The annual Kauai Veterans Day parade, traditionally held on the first Saturday of November and presented by the Kauai Veterans Council, returned to Kapaa town, coordinated by the Kapaa Business Association.
The parade was tacked onto a day-long slate of events, including a mini version of the Coconut Festival, and the traditional First Saturday event for a day of entertainment, craft and food sales at Kapaa Beach Park immediately after the parade.
The First Hawaiian Church and the Kauai Independent Daycare Services school also tacked on their craft and food offerings for even more choices for the spectators who lined the main street — Kuhio Highway — through Kapaa.
The parade also precedes the annual Veterans Day Service, which takes place, this Sunday, Nov. 11, starting at 11 a.m. at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
