The U.S. National Hurricane Center said the storm was centered about 145 miles (235 kilometers) west of Manzanillo, Mexico, at midday Monday and was headed west-northwest at 5 mph (7 kph). Tropical-storm-force winds extended as far as 115 miles (185 kilometers) from the center.
The storm had maximum sustained winds of 60 mph (95 kph), but was expected to start to weaken over the next few days

Forecasters said it was likely to bring 1 to 3 inches (2.5 to 7.5 centimeters) of rain to parts of Guerrero, Michoacan, Colima and Jalisco states.
