Clesson En How Ching
Clesson En How Ching, 91, of Wailua Homesteads, passed away at home on Sept. 26, 2018.
Born in Waimea on Sept. 26, 1927, he was a sergeant and veteran of WWII and the Korean War with the U.S. Army, an assistant manager with the Coco Palms Hotel, and retired as a janitorial supervisor with Kauai Surf Hotel.
He was preceded in death by parents Samuel and Eva Ching, son Darrell Keith Ching, brothers Harold Ching, Lester Ching and Wilford Ching, and great-grandson Coleman Ching.
He is survived by wife Grace Rapozo Ching of Wailua Homesteads, sons David (Amy) Ching of California and Derrick Ching of Wailua Homesteads, daughters Colette (James) Kawamura, Melinda (Robert) Hammond and Debbie (John) Sotelo, all of Wailua Homesteads, grandchildren Chelsie (Jon) Ing, Jamie Kawamura, Brandie (Joey) Silva, Dionne (Antone) Teves, Justin Ching, Penny Ching, Chantel Hammond, Bobby (Jenn) Hammond, Lani Sotelo and Kalea Sotelo, great-grandchildren Joey Silva Jr., Wailana Silva, Nevaeh Silva, Christian Teves, Cameron Teves, Malia Teves, Manoah Teves, Eliana Pacheco, Temana Teves and Byron Hammond, brother Harmony (Edna) Ching of Kalaheo, sister Opal Healani (Chuck) Trembath of Lihue, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kapaa 1st Ward, with viewing from 9:30 a.m. and services celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.

Elizabeth Margaret Honjo
Elizabeth Margaret Honjo, 88, of Kalaheo, passed away on Oct. 8, 2018.
Born on July 21, 1930 in New York, she was a retired nurse.
She was preceded in death by parents William Raymond and Lainie Marie Culver.
She is survived by husband Henry T. Honjo of Kalaheo, brother Lowell (Auka) Culver of Illinois, sister Wilma Lydick of California, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of live will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27, at Kalaheo Missionary Church at 10 a.m. The family suggests aloha attire.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Delphine ‘Nina’ Dacay
Delphine “Nina” Dacay, 88, of Puhi, passed away at home on Oct. 6, 2018. She was born in Waimea on Dec. 24, 1929, and retired as a housekeeping inspector.
She was preceded in death by husband Cecilio Dacay and son Mansfield Dacay.
She is survived by children Aurora (Bill) Fritz, Wanda (Glyn) Higashi and Wadsworth (Lynette) Dacay, daughter-in-law Donna Dacay, 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3, at Immaculate Conception Church, with viewing from 8 to 9:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Cremation will follow.
