LIHUE — Sara Miura of Deja Vu Surf Hawaii said the firm always sends their buyers to the Kauai Made, Kauai Grown trade show that was held Friday at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall.
“We’ve always made it a point for our buyers to come to this event,” Miura said. “We’ve discovered Jane Kato and Kauai Crayons that we sell at our stores. This year, we won’t tell you what we found until it comes out at Deja Vu.”
Miura was several of the people in the trade who mingled through the offering from more than 30 vendors representing Kauai Made and Kauai Grown producers who laid out their latest for two hours.
“We’ve got to do the Kauai Chocolate and Coffee Festival,” said Greg Askew of Ono Pops who showed off a Chocolate Apple Banana pop. “This one has a fancy label. We’ll have the sampler-tasting size at the festival with Candace Boxer. I’ll be just down the street for the Friday Night Art Walk with different flavors.”
Christiane Love of Silk &Cotton added to her line of fashion art accessories with a new line of sun catchers in various vibrant colors. Na Keahi Manea, more commonly known as Jo Manea, was selling a book she penned in Hawaiian and English with the help of Kaha Ki‘ina Kayleigh Chalkowski, that benefits the Kauai Forest Bird Recovery Project.
The trade show also featured the popular doggie fashion show coordinated by Jan Woo of Bark-a-roo, a line of baked treats for doggies and felines, and pet accessories.
Chef Richard Dias of Hookipa Cafe at the Puakea Golf Course kept appetites whetted with his chef’s demonstration.
