The County of Kauai, Office of the County Clerk, recently received a 2018 achievement award from the National Association of Counties “Engage, Educate and Enlighten the Community in the Legislative Process” Program.
Councilmember Arryl Kaneshiro and Councilmember Mason K. Chock attended the recognition luncheon in Nashville/Davidson County, that was held at NACo’s 2018 annual conference. The awards honor innovative, effective county government programs that strengthen services for residents.
“In recent years, the Office of the County Clerk has made great strides to improving our digital communications strategies by making Council information as accessible as possible through our website,” said Mel Rapozo, Council Chair. “We have led the charge for other County departments and agencies to become more transparent utilizing modern technology and continue to seek improvements to better serve our community. We are very proud that these efforts were recognized by NACo.”
The County Clerk’s website includes access to all meeting agendas, agenda packets with clickable links, lobbyist registration statements and expenditure statements, uncodified ordinances, electronic and user-friendly Kauai County Code, the Charter of the County of Kauai, all adopted resolutions, and more.
The public is also able to sign-up to receive notices and agendas via E-mail, or submit testimony electronically.
