Jeff ran into the flood waters (Bridgette Orsatelli volunteered to drive her car through the Koloa road) on Waikomo Bridge, taking some time to grab video before resuming his route check.
Over at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center, Waimea High School football coach Jason Caldeira is praying for better weather because he, and the Menehune, are raring to play after last week’s game was re-scheduled due to Hurricane Lane. Coach Jason said they even practiced in the rain Monday night.
Kudos to Brian and Coleen Kasperek (it’s not even tax time, yet) for getting the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center set up as a Red Cross shelter for the Koloa evacuees, and the Kalaheo Seniors Ukulele Band had a nice audience while playing between the raindrops.
OK, let’s hope everything clears up — we have air riflery back at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center, and if we’re really lucky, maybe a stop off at The Kauai Culinary Market (does it ever get rained out?) before getting to Kauai Interscholastic Federation girls volleyball.
