Make changes before it’s too late
There are 16 countries and places that restrict tourism and growth. Among them: Norway,Venice, Barcelona, Iceland among them. Good luck if you want to relocate to New Zealand.
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different out come. Albert Einstein. So electing the same people over and over again?
Just had a big manure spill on the big Island. Like Kauai can handle this. It can also not handle 8,000 more homes of any kind.

Drive carefully on Omao Road
This Saturday, the Tree tunnel Road will be closed all day for a cleanup effort. Traffic will be diverted to Omao Road, which is a peaceful residential neighborhood.
I contacted the KPD in regards to adding an officer to the bottom of Omao road to regulate the four way traffic. Unfortunately due to lack of manpower, this request will not be addressed. In the future I hope Omao road will be cleaned up first and the potholes filled by the county workers who clean the Tree Tunnel.
I also hope KPD will position a traffic monitor to regulate the four-way traffic at the bottom of Omao Road. Please keep in mind, whenever the Tree Tunnel is closed due to a clean up, flood, accident or fallen tree, Omao is vulnerable to hazardous driving conditions due to unregulated traffic.
I also urge all drivers who use Omao Road to be mindful and enact common courtesy. Mahalo to all for your consideration in this matter.

Crowds create environmental mess
Aloha, last weekend went to Polihale, it was gorgeous. Queens Pond had about 50 pop-ups so lots of other people were enjoying the day there, too.
The problem is no nearby restrooms. So the majority if not all these people all day were using sand or sea for restroom. This is a problem not only for our ocean environment but sanitary conditions as well. There is a spot up top by parking area that could house a portable restroom. Maybe not everyone would make the walk up there but it would be better than nothing. It would be great if it had hand washing capabilities also.
Speaking of hand washing, our parks public restrooms are in need of soap and hand towels. After using these restrooms you feel like you are in a Third World country, not one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Come on parks and rec. The island is bringing in about $175 million a month, how about a little soap and towel?
