Congratulations to Leona Perez and the Kauai Lions Club for finding a part of Jose Bulatao’s “lost” memorabilia from the Bailes de Jose during the club’s Adopt-a-Highway cleanup Sunday!
Congratulations to Leona Perez and the Kauai Lions Club for finding a part of Jose Bulatao’s “lost” memorabilia from the Bailes de Jose during the club’s Adopt-a-Highway cleanup Sunday!
Leona said when they found pieces along Kuhio Highway just Lihue side of the Mill Bridge, the kids — Kazdin Boiser Gomes, Isabelle and Sophia Tumpap — who were with them got more excited about trying to find more pieces than picking up trash. The found pieces were in protective sleeves, but still wet so Leona said they spread everything out to let it dry before Jose came to claim them. Helping clean the highway from the Kauai Lions Club were Muriah Moises, president Maynard Williams, Leila Summers, Kalia Boiser Gomes, Alan Jeffries, and Perez.
Kudos to Emily Manuel (she’s helping with the Kauai Fashion Weekend, too!) who is the new manager at the Crazy Shirts at The Shops at Kukuiula on doing such a bang-up job with the silk screening, she had a good-sized audience captivated by the process during the Kauai Culinary Market (Miguel Chrisman was so busy with chocolate on his first day at the market, he barely had time to talk).
Chef Judy Capertina (they have a Haole Girl Sweets logo on the new Kauai Independent Food Truck!) said their new bigger place should be ready, soon!
