Nope, Josie Pablo won’t have the Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital residents there because they gotta get up early for the King’s Parade Saturday (roads start closing at 8 a.m.) at the Historic County Building. Kudos to Melissia Sugai and her parade team for making this extravaganza happen for all these years!
Saturday (it’s the second one this month) is also time to check out the Lawai Warehouse (say “hi” to Charles Hiramoto and Shannon Hiramoto!) to see who’s doing the Roots in Culture food truck since Mark and Tricia Ruiz are rolling up their sleeves to prepare for the grand opening of Kiawe Roots Tuesday at The Shops at Kukuiula.
Second Saturday is also The Shops at Kukuiula’s monthly Art Walk where Brunda Stude (Brolie has his own Facebook page!) of galerie 103 is scheduled to open a new exhibit.
Kudos, too, to Lourdes Torres and Emilio Ruiz-Romero of Sustainable Boost, who opened their table Wednesday during the weekly Kauai Culinary Market (and where did the lululemon pop-up come from?). Lourdes is still flying from all the craziness of getting open at some of the Oahu markets and, yes, they’re still available at the Saturday Kauai Community Market.
