LIHUE — Kauai Mayoral candidate Derek Kawakami opened his campaign headquarters on Rice Street on Friday. Nearly 100 supporters came to celebrate the grand opening and enjoyed entertainment and refreshments.
The space is warmly decorated with comfortable seating.
“Monica and I wanted the headquarters to feel like home, it’s a place that is inviting to everyone,” Kawakami said. “More than ever, it is important to bring people together. Whether we are addressing the creation of more affordable housing or traffic solutions, we need to listen to each other and find fair and innovative solutions.”
Kawakami is a lifelong Kauai resident. He operates a family business, serves on the Kauai County Council and was a member of the state House of Representatives.
Derek Kawakami has a lot of skeletons in his closet and Bradley Chiba is a huge one.
Agreed, he keeps running for office and not always complete the entire term. He has too many issues to trust him to manage our County.
Manage your friends and family first, then run for office.
