Robert Morris ‘Smash’ Tatom
Robert Morris “Smash” Tatom passed away at the age of 74 on April 12, 2018, at Gulfport Memorial Hospital in Mississipi. He is a veteran of the U.S Army who served in Vietnam.
He is survived by wife Doloris Tatom, children Ilanu Jenean Tatom, Piilani Marcel Tatom Medeiros, Robert Duke Limaloa Tatom, Summer Tatom, Joseph Tatom and Amanda Lacaze, 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings Benjamin Tatom, Denise Tatom Battistella, Kaimi Kinimaka King, Kaniu Kinimaka Stocksdale, Keala Kinimaka Senkus, Kapulani Kinimaka Alquiza, Titus Kinimaka, Nani Kinimaka Davis, Lihue Kinimaka Lopez and AleAleKai Kinimaka.
He was preceded in death by parents Robert Lee Tatom and Ellen Kinimaka.
A memorial service will take place on Sunday, June 3, at 1 p.m. at Kalapaki Bay, Nawiliwili. A spreading of his ashes will take place after the services. There will also be a paina to follow at Kalapaki Beach Park.
The family requests casual attire.
Benjamin Baguinon Caoagas
Benjamin Baguinon Caoagas, 76, of Lihue, passed away at Wilcox Medical Center on April 21, 2018. He was born in Paoay, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, on Sept. 14, 1941, and retired as a surveyor with Lihue Plantation Company.
He was preceded in death by parents Tomas and Adriana Caoagas, brother Ulpiano Caoagas, and brother-in-law Warlino Menor.
He is survived by wife Eliza Caoagas of Lihue, sons Marlo (Melisa Pegeder) Caoagas of Puhi, Adrian (Reichell Robles) Caoagas of Seattle, and Christopher (Leah) Caoagas of Lihue, daughter Melanie Caoagas of Seattle, 14 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, brothers Florentino (Erlina) Caoagas of Omao and Ferdinand (Estela) Caoagas of Wailua, sister Carlina Menor of Las Vegas, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 19, at Immaculate Conception Church, with viewing from 8 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Hideo Sasaki
Hideo Sasaki passed away on May 6, 2018, at the age of 90, in Lihue. He was born on July 7, 1927.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a line serviceman for Hawaiian Airlines.
He is preceded in death by son Sherwin Sasaki, father Noboru Sasaki, mother Tetsu Sasaki, sisters Tsuruye Nishi and Edith Ibe, brothers Takeshi Sasaki, Mitsuru Sasaki and Tsuyoshi Sasaki and granddaughter Nicole Thomas.
He is survived by his wife Michie Sasaki of Lihue, son Stafford Sasaki of Hanamaulu, daughters Sheilah (Stephen) Thomas of Wailua Homesteads, grandchildren Dawn S. Fukushima (Kenneth) Cummings, Brandon (Leo) Thomas, great-grandchildren Tierny Waialeale (Chris) Fu, Teagan Waialeale, Keona Peahu, Kawananakoa Peahu, Kahinu Peahu, Kamuela Peahu, Kenneth (Melissa) Cummings, Kyary Cummings, Kaliyah Cummings, Brooklyn Thomas and Bronx Thomas, great-greatgrandchildren Tavis Fu, Tariq Fu, Tazin Fu and Kaniela Peahu, sisters Akiyo Matsuyama and Momoe Sato, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on May 19 at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe, with visitation at 10 a.m. and services at 11 a.m.

Ronald Sadao Yokoi
Ronald Sadao Yokoi of Kapaa passed away on May 14, 2018, at Wilcox Medical Center at the age of 71.
He was born on Sept. 18, 1946, in Waimea, was a retired route salesman with Hostess Cake and, in his own world, “still a rookie fisherman.”
He was preceded in death by parents Toshichi “Lefty” and Natsu Yokoi, brothers Tom and Paul Yokoi, sister-in-law Karen, brother-in-law Benjamin, parents-in-law Shoichi and Kimiko Kodama, and son Benjamin.
He is survived by wife LaVerne Kodama-Yokoi, daughters Miko (Adam) and Amber (John), siblings Royden “Butch” (Betty), Linda (Tsugi) and Gordon, sister-in-law Vera, granddaughter Siena, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, May 23, at Garden Island Mortuary chapel in Lawai from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., where services will be at 11 a.m. The family suggests casual attire.

Charles Perry Spencer
Charles Perry Spencer, 86, passed away on May 8, 2018. He was born on Aug. 3, 1931, in Imaly City, Michigan.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean Conflict. He was retired from United Airlines as a parts operator.
He is preceded in death by his parents Levi &Kathleen Spencer, brother Glenn Spencer.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Jean Spencer, children Rebecca Hostallero and Joel Spencer, grandchildren Kyle, Chenoa and Rachel Hostallero, one great grandchild, brother James Spencer of Grosse Point Woods, Michigan, and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at Lihue Missionary Church on May 20, with visitation at 3 p.m. and services at 4 p.m. A light lunch will be served.

Clyde Kazuo Tasaka
Clyde Kazuo Tasaka, 81, of Kapaa, passed away on May 12, 2018 at his home in Kapaa.
Born on Nov. 30, 1936, in Kilauea, he was a retired school teacher and counselor at Kapaa High School, and served in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by wife Margaret Tasaka, parents Kenichi and Asayo Tasaka, and brother Vernon Tasaka.
He is survived by daughter Toni (Pancho) Tasaka-Alapai of Wailua Houselots, grandson and best friend Jai Kazuo Aukake Alapai, step-grandchildren Maka‘ai Kahealani and Shea-Nainoa Alapai, sisters Winona (Tom) Yoshida of Oahu and Gladys “Shinae” Tasaka of Hanalei, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 2, at Garden Island Mortuary chapel in Lawai from 10 to 10:45 a.m., where services will be held at 11 a.m.
The family suggests casual attire and requests that flowers be omitted.
