The 2018 Island Movers Track &Field Championships state meet concluded Saturday at the Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama campus on Oahu.
Kauai High School’s girls team placed 13th with 14 points, and Kapaa High’s boys team placed 18th with eight points.
Punahou School won both the girls and boys team championships — the girls team tallied 92 points, and the boys team got 114 points.
Kauai’s Taegan Keep, who won gold in the girls discus on Friday, placed eighth in the girls shot put with a distance of 35 feet, 6.25 inches. Waimea High School’s Leiohu Chun was 26th with 29 feet, 6.25 inches. Aiea’s Leslie Mamai-Lagafuaina won gold with 42 feet, 8.50 inches.
In the girls long jump, Kauai’s Torrie Hasegawa placed 15th in the finals with a distance of 15 feet, 2 inches. Kauai’s Waileia Edwards was 18th with 14 feet, 11.25 inches. Chenoa Frederick of Kamehameha Schools-Hawaii won gold with a distance of 17 feet, 5.75 inches.
In the girls triple jump, Kauai’s Edwards placed ninth in the finals with a distance of 34 feet, 8.75 inches on Friday. Kauai’s Hasegawa was 24th with 31 feet, 10.25 inches. Frederick of KS-Hawaii was first with 39 feet, 10 inches.
Kapaa’s Zion Williams placed 23rd in the finals of the boys triple jump with a distance of 39 feet, 10.50 inches. Waipahu High School’s Isaiah Harris was first with 46 feet, 4 inches.
Kauai High’s Mark Tabalbag was 10th in the boys high jump with a height of 5 feet, 10 inches. Baldwin’s Shawn Silva was first with six feet, 4 inches.
In the boys 1,500-meter run, Kapaa’s Garret Smith placed seventh with a time of 4:16.55. Iolani’s Jason Wang won gold with a time of 4:08.04.
Kauai High placed sixth in the girls 4×100 meter relay with a time of 51.02 seconds. Punahou placed first with 48.76 seconds.
Island School’s Joshua Graves placed eighth in the finals of the boys 800-meter run with a time of 2 minutes, 4.24 seconds. Konawaena’s Josiah Vallez won gold with 1 minute, 58.42 seconds.
Kauai placed fifth in the finals of the girls 4×400 meter relay with a time of 4 minutes, 10.73 seconds. Mililani placed first with a time of 3:58.71.
