Marvel blockbuster “Avengers: Infinity War” is seeing huge success in South Korea with nearly 8.5 million tickets sold at box office by May 6 after releasing on April 25.
Marvel, for some reason, is just popular in South Korea and a key market for its releases. Quite often, stars of the films visit South Korea for the film opening and have huge press conferences. “Black Panther” also did very well in South Korea and part of the film was also shot in Busan. Marvel even has merchandise stores in Seoul, Busan and Paju. Marvel games are also a big hit in the country. “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” was also partly filmed in Seoul, South Korea, and had big box office success. “Avengers: Infinity War” is expected to surpass 10 million tickets sold, which is a threshold many films fall short of.
