Kapaa High School’s varsity softball team repeated as Kauai Interscholastic Federation softball champions.
Kapaa (10-3 KIF, 5-1 2nd round, 1-0 playoff) defeated Waimea, 16-6, on Tuesday afternoon in Kapaa to clinch its second straight league title and berth at the DataHouse Softball Championships – Division II state tournament on Oahu.
Waimea (8-4 KIF, 4-2 2nd round, 0-1 playoff) will play against Lanai High School of the Maui Interscholastic League in a play-in game at 5:30 p.m. today at Waimea Canyon Park for a berth at the D2 state softball tournament.
