Ludevico ‘Jackie’ Pigao
Ludevico “Jackie” Pigao, 81 years old of Eleele, Kauai, passed away on Feb. 12, 2018, at his home in Eleele. He was born on Jan. 13, 1937, in Hanapepe, Kauai. He was a Lieutenant ARFF Fire fighter and served in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his soul mate, JoAnne Salazar; grandparents, Jiji Inosuke Tsuji, Baba Sina Tsuji; father, Jose Pigao Sr.; mother, Alice Matsue Pigao; sister-in-law, Joanne Parages Pigao; brother-in-law, MacArthur DelaCruz.
He is survived by his sons, Rick (Melissa) Salazar of WA, Raymond (Lahea) Salazar of Koloa; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jose (Rosie) Pigao of Eleele, Donald Pigao of Kekaha, Ronnie Pigao of CA; sisters, Rosita (Jerry) Sakamoto of Waimea, Big Island, Hawaii, Linda DelaCruz of Kekaha, Gail (Wayne “Buddie”) Ayudan of Kekaha, Jennie Fe (Rommel) Manansala of Honolulu; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Kauai Veterans Cemetery maintenance shed from 9 to 9:45 a.m. where services will be celebrated at 10 a.m.

Flerinda Buyat, 74 years old of Kaumakani, Kauai, passed away on March 24, 2018, at Maui Memorial Medical Center. She was born on April 1, 1944, in Philippines, she was a house wife.
She is survived by her husband; Benjamin Buyat, Sr.; sons, Benjamin Buyat, Jr. Randy Buyat; daughters, Venjielyn Aceret, Mona Liza Rivera, Anna Liza Buyat, Leilanie Buyat, Loarni Buyat, Girlie Buyat, April Buyat; 22 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; mother, Filomena Tumamao; brothers, Carmelito Tumamao, Florentino Tumamao, Arnolfo Tumamao, Edwin Tumamao.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, April 20, 2018, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo from 9 to 10:15 a.m. where Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will take place in the Philippines on a later date.

Elvira Celestino Bisarra, 94 years old, of Lihue, Kauai, passed away on March 29, 2018,at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. She was born on July 23, 1923, in the Philippines, she was a housewife.
She is survived by sons, Eugenio (Patricia) Bisarra of Kekaha, Kauai, Samuel (Emilia) Bisarra of Lihue, Kauai, Joel (Lily) Bisarra of California, Conrado (Adela) Bisarra of Philippines, Felix (Jodi) Bisarra of California, Ruben (Zosima) Bisarra of California; daughters, Plebe B Gamboa of Philippines, Ermie B Declaro of California, Luzviminda B (Philp) Spense Of Ohio, Edna B (David) Barnes of Oregon; 42 grandchildren; sister, Ester Casucay of Philippines; numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be on April 21, 2018, at Kekaha Methodist Church. Visitation with the family from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Service begins at 11 a.m. There will be a burial to follow at Kekaha Public Cemetery.

Elizabeth Ann (Rapozo) Oyamot of Makaweli, passed away on March 5, 2018, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, Lihue, Kauai at the age of 82. She was born on Sept. 27, 1935, in Hanamaulu, Kauai. She was a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by the love of her life, husband, Severino “German” Oyamot; parents, Daniel Rapozo and Roseline Silva Malaia Rapozo Rodrigues; daughter-in-law, Helena Yadao Oyamot; hanai sons, Charles “Eddie” Fu and William “Billy” Keale.

Visitation will be from 8 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary Church in Waimea. Mass to follow at 10 a.m. with Father EJ Resinto. The ohana request standing wreaths be omitted, flower leis are welcomed, and casual attire suggested.

Benidict ‘BJ’ Hughes Navor Gaitos
Benidict “BJ” Hughes Navor Gaitos went to the Kingdom of his Heavenly Father after a long battle with AML leukemia on April 1, 2018, at Wilcox Hospital. He was 27 years old. He was born on July 9, 1990, and was a drywall construction worker with the company Shioi. He was also a member of the Hawaii Army National Guard.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandpa, Benidicto Gaitos II.
He is survived by his girlfriend, Kelsi Ogata; son, Zaikea Gaitos; daughter, Kaydence Gaitos; mother, Virgie Navor (Dean Wakuta); father, Ben Ferdinand Navalta Gaitos III of California; brother, Hollywood (Nadia) Aquias; sister, Krystal-Carrie “KC” (Kylie) Gaitos; maternal grandparents, Ricardo and Adelina Navor; paternal grandma, Celerina Navalta Herrman of the Philippines; aunties, Marlene Reyes, Norma (Clifford) Mission, Maile (Lester) Tugade, Catharina (Fray) Belasco of the Philippines; uncles, Ricardo Navor Jr., Ridel (Jane) Navor, Emiliano (Juanit) Gaetos of the Philippines, Ben (Patricia) Geron of Germany; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A wake will be held on April 27, 2018, at Garden Island Mortuary in Lawai from 6 to 9 p.m. A celebration of life will be held on April 28, at St. Catherine’s Church on Kawaihau Rd. Kapaa. Visitation will be held from 8 to 9:45 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. A burial will follow at Kalapaki Bay Memorial. Flowers welcome.
There will be a luncheon to follow at Nawiliwili Beach Park, Kalapaki.

Julia Shizuko Hashimoto Kunikiyo, passed away on April 1, 2018. She worked as a sales lady most of her life.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Kiyo Hashimoto; father, Kakutaro Hashimoto; husband, Kenneth Kunikiyo.
She is survived by her son, Marvin Kunikiyo, who resides in Washington State.
Her Celebration of Life service will be held at the Lihue Hongwanji on May 5, 2018, at 5 p.m. Viewing will be at 4 p.m.

William Kaneakua, 83 years old of Lihue, Kauai, passed away on March 26, 2018, at Samuel Mahelona Hospital. He was born on March 25, 1935, in Kauai, Hawaii.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Louise Kaneakua; sister, Eloise Oclit; brother, Henry Kaneakua; son, Scot Kaneakua.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Bonilla Kaneakua; sons, Tai (Courtney) Kaneakua, Kahana Kaneakua, Kaulana (Penny) Kaneakua; sister, Pauline Wise, Elma (Lani) Kaneakua; brother, James Keoua (Beverly) Kaneakua; daughter-in-law, Maile Shklov; grandchildren, Chasen, Nisa, Pono, Taylor, Kewai, Ka’inoa, Kahilaka, Mahie; great-grandchildren, Taj, Arin, Cohen, Jax; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Nora Macabeo Garcia, 70, of Kapaa, passed away at home on April 12, 2018. She was born in Manila, Philippines on Jan. 10, 1948, and retired as a Housekeeper with Coco Palms and Kauai Beach Boy Hotel.
Preceded in death by her parents, Honorato and Visitacion Macabeo, sister, Lourdes Callera.
Nora is survived by her husband, Robert D. Garcia Sr., 5 children and 9 grandchildren, Maria Garcia (Eddie) Barroga, their children, Edmhar Barroga and Dexter Barroga; Normita Garcia Stahl (Victor Bachelor) and her daughters, Tisha Stahl and Alyssa Stahl; her grandson, Raphael “Kai” Stahl, Norberto (Leilani) Garcia and their son, Richard Garcia, Roberto (Summer) Garcia Jr. and their children, Raequel Garcia and Robert Jon Garcia “RJ”, Shirley Garcia and her sons, Mark Anthony Hatchell and Justin Tyler Hatchell; siblings, Lolita (Paco) Abad, Erlinda (Willie) Tolentino, Joseph (Precy) Macabeo, Honorato (Corina) Macabeo Jr., Charlie (Analyn) Macabeo, Elizabeth (Felipe) Perez; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ernest Costa Brum Jr., 74, of Hanamaulu, passed away in Wilcox Memorial Hospital on March 31, 2018. He was born in Lihue, Kauai, on July 25, 1943, and retired from Construction as a Heavy Equipment Operator.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Costa Brum Sr. and Theresa Paul Costa Brum.
Ernest is survived by four children, Marylou Kai, Kenny Costa Brum, Duncan Costa Brum, Roberta (Joseph) Apaisa; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Steven Costa Brum; sisters, Veronica Christian, Aileen Oshiro, Patsy Christian, Theresa Costa Brum; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 21, at noon at Lydgate Beach Park.
