Machines will not speed up process
TGI story, “Solutions sought to long lines at motor vehicle registration,” on Saturday, March 24. In this story it suggest that they add a kiosk or computers for us to use to do our vehicle registration Councilwoman JoAnn Yukimura also suggests a kiosk put in somewhere on the Westside of the island as well as on the Eastside.
These (mentioned above) are ridiculous suggestions. Even if they follow through with those machine in the DMV building only. Already per the story, “with the new registration machine it is a little slower than the older registration machine.”
To add salt to the wound, “many people (myself included) don’t know how to use a kiosk and computer.”
Why not move the two offices across the way of the DMV Office to where the soon to be old Lihue post office is located? Those offices are hardly or never busy and the personnel is just standing around watching people go in and out of the DMV and driver’s license area.
Don’t know about anyone else. Me, “I would rather interact with a real person than a machine.”
Machines will only slow down long lines!
