Louis Parraga Jr.
Louis Parraga Jr., of Kekaha, passed away on Feb. 28, 2018, at the of 90, at Kauai Veteran’s Memorial Hospital.
Born in Kalaheo on Oct. 31, 1927, he was a heavy equipment operator for Kekaha Sugar Company, and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by parents Louis and Mary Parraga Sr., wife Margaret Koerte Parraga, and son Wayne Parraga.
He is survived by son Franklin Parraga of Kauai, daughter Penny (Marvin) Fujinaka of Kauai, brother Joe Parraga of Arizona, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may visit the family on Friday, March 23, at Lihue Lutheran Church, with visitation at 9:30 a.m. and service at 10:30 a.m.
Burial will follow at the Lihue Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Helen Parraga Machado
Helen Parraga Machado, 90, of Koloa, passed away on Feb. 19, 2018, at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home.
Born on May 8, 1927 in Kauai, she was a retired seamstress.
She was preceded in death by parents Frank and Trinidad Parraga, and son Richard “Dicky” Jacintho.
She is survived by her daughters Blanche (Gilmore) Claonan of Kalaheo and Laverne (Nolan) Bukoski of Lawai, son Darren (Raquel) (Chase) Machado of Kalaheo, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, sisters Sophie Bonilla of Kalaheo and Lillian Vasques of Kapaa, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Borthwick Kauai Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
