Frank Gilbert Morris
Frank Gilbert Morris, 85, passed away peacefully at Rancho Cordova, California, on Feb. 6, 2018. He was born on Sept. 25, 1932, in Koloa, to Beatrice Sedeno Souza (deceased) and Frank S. Morris (deceased). He graduated from Kauai High School in 1951 and was a retired Korean War veteran.
In 1956 he moved to Daly City, California, where he met and married Ruby Sanches in April 1958 in San Francisco.
He was preceded in death by son Kevin Michael, and brothers Leonard (Ichiko) and Herbert (Carol).
He is survived by wife Ruby Morris, sons Robert, Frank Russell, John Lester and Troy James, grandchildren Anthony John, Sterling Rose, Levi Avery and Amber Marie, great-grandchildren Logan and Serena, brother Melvin (Cheryl) Morris, sisters Sylvia Martin, LaVerne Bessert and Susan (William) Lopes, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins on Kauai, and in California and Nevada.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, Feb. 17, at New Life Center, 2451 Zinfandel Drive, Rancho Cordova, California.
There will be a scattering of ashes on Kauai at a later date.
Anna Piedad Pascual
Anna Piedad Pascual, 91, of Hanamaulu, passed away on Jan. 30, 2018, at Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital. Born on May 12, 1926, in Eleele, she retired as a field worker with McBryde Sugar Company.
She was preceded in death by parents Flora Carmen and Hipolito Peidad, and her loving husband Honorio Pascual.
She is survived by sons Edmund (Cora) Pascual and Ruven (Stacy) Pascual, daughters Fely (Ruben) Lagundino, Delia (Henry) Bumagat and Josie (Jaime) Pablo, grandchildren Ferdinand Lagundino Jr., Sunshine Badua, Ourigner Lagundino, Melissa Pascual, David Lagundino, Leah Gaines, Kathleen Agena, Nathan Lagundino, Joshua Lagundino, Ryan Pascual, Veronica Pablo, Harold Bumagat, Daniel Bumagat, Chanelle Pascual, Maegan Pablo and Keegan Pascual, and 25 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, March 16, at Garden Island Mortuary chapel in Lawai from 5 p.m., where services will be at 6:30 p.m., and again on Saturday, March 17, at Aloha Church Assembly of God in Lihue from 9 a.m., where services will be celebrated at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
The family suggests casual attire.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary.
Fumiko H. Sadanaga
Fumiko H. Sadanaga of Kilauea passed away at home on Feb. 19, 2018, at the age of 95. She was born in Makaweli on May 14, 1922, and retired as a part time postal clerk at Kilauea.
She was preceded in death by husband Eichi Sadanaga, grandson Davin Goo, parents Totaro and Hana Horikawa, brother Toichi Horikawa and sister-in-law Noriko Horikawa.
She is survived by son Ken Sadanaga, daughters Arlene (Minoru) Ota and Karen Goo, grandchildren Kent Sadanaga, LaReina Nebre, LaRisa (Chandler “Atta” Forrest) Nebre, Darren Ota and Carrie (Leighton) Kato, great-grandchildren Reidon Rathbone, Zoie Rathbone, Kiyomi Forest and Kimiko Forest, brother Noboru (Elsie) Horikawa, sister-in-law Violet Sueko Hamada, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 24, at Kapaa Hongwanji, with visitation from noon and services beginning at 1 p.m. Inurnment will be private at Kauai Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Kauai Memorial Gardens &Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
