Barbara-Jean Linoz-
Hodges of Kapaa passed away in Wilcox Medical Center on Jan. 29, 2018, at the age of 47. She was born on Oahu on Feb. 10, 1970, and was a cashier at Shell gas station in Kapaa.
She was preceded in death by foster parents Leonard and Marie Manguchei, and mother Inocencia Linoz.
She is survived by husband Manny Hodges, daughters Mary-Ana Manguchei, Maile Hodges and Puaolena Hodges, granddaughter Jazlyn Manguchei, father Paul Kihano, and numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, Feb. 23, at Immaculate Conception Church, with viewing from 8 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Debbie Dominga Liberato
Debbie Dominga Liberato, 77, of Koloa, passed away on Jan. 23, 2018, at Wilcox Medical Center.
Born on Dec. 20, 1940, in the Philippines, she was a retired from clerk from Koloa Big Save.
She was preceded in death by parents Ponciano and Maximiniana Daligcon.
She is survived by husband Vivencio Liberato, daughter Flora Jean Liberato, grandson Tristen Bryce Silva, sisters Victoria S. Daligcon and Leonora (Antonio) Arga, brothers Gregorio (Virginia) Daligcon and Leoncio (Maria) Daligcon, five stepchildren, 13 stepgrandchildren, and numerous stepgreat-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Feb. 24, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary chapel in Koloa from 8 to 9:45 a.m., where services will be celebrated at 10 a.m.
Cremation will follow.
The family suggests casual attire and requests that flowers be omitted.

Kennedy R. Luis
Kennedy R. Luis, 80, of Eleele, passed away on Feb. 8, 2018, at Wilcox Medical Center.
Born on Nov. 8, 1937, in Koloa, he was retired as a drip irrigator and also from the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by parents Isaac and Victoria Luis, and sisters Gloria Pagala and Soledad Camelo.
He is survived by wife Theresa Luis of Eleele, sons Kennedy (Chantel) Luis Jr. of Koloa, Kevin (Joan) Luis of Lihue, Ted (Marilyn) Luis of Lihue, Jason (Melanie) Luis of Eleele, Travis Luis of Eleele and Jonathan Luis of Eleele, grandchildren Jade, Maria, K Somer, Kazzandra, Cazzelle, Ahslyn, Kristie, Easton, Gerilyn (Shiler) Sugimura, Ted Jr., Ian, Taylen, Jana and Justin Luis, great-grandchildren Kysn Ponce, Kvyn Ponce, Tevai Sugimura, Kori Sugimura, Taelin Sugimura and Taedence Sugimura, brother Teddy Luis Sr. of Chicago, sister Florafina (Doric) Remata of Lihue, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ikehara-Yasay
Preston Ikehara-Yasay, 25, of Kapaa, passed way on Feb. 2, 2018, at Wilcox Medical Center.
Born on May 26, 1992, in Kapiolani Hospital, he worked as a bellman and valet at the Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas, and an entertainer at Luau Kalamaku at Kilohana.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Seio Ikehara and Mariano Rafanan, and grandmother Dora Yasay.
He is survived by fiancé Malia Cremer of Kapaa, stepson Scott Kimura of Kapaa, mother Gwen Ikehara-Yasay of Kapaa, father Gideon Yasay of Kapaa, brother Kelson Yasay of Kapaa, grandmother Stella Miyoshi of Kapaa, grandmother Sachiko Ikehara of Kapaa, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be on Saturday, Feb. 24, at Kilohana Gaylord’s luau pavilion in Puhi from 9 to 10:15 a.m., where services will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.

Andrew John Hart
Andrew John Hart of Kapaa passed away in Wilcox Medical Center on Nov. 27, 2017, at the age of 61. He was born in California on Oct. 27, 1956, and was the co-founder of Bubba Burgers.
He was preceded in death by father Warren Hart, brother Patrick Hart, and grandmother Fabiola Gallager.
He is survived by wife Debra Hart, mother Barbara Jean Hart, siblings Michael Hart, Joan (Matthew) Howarth, Thomas (Jennifer) Hart, Danny (Tracy) Hart and Joe (Debra) Hart, stepdaughter Xochitl (Sean) Garcia, and grandchildren Finnley, Cassius and Romeo Garcia and Max Mackenzie.
Please join the family for a celebration of life on the beach behind Kapaa Neighborhood Center on Saturday, March 3, at 11 a.m.

Barbara ‘Gail’ Seely
Barbara “Gail” Seely of Puhi, formerly of Kapaa, died Oct. 12, 2017 after a short journey with ovarian cancer, at home surrounded by friends and supported by an amazing team from Kauai’s Conscious Living and Dying Caring Circle. She was preceded in death by parents Joseph and Agnes (Carroll) Seely and husband Richard “Dicky” Owens.
She is survived by brother Joseph (Peggy) Seely and sister Jill Seely, plus extended family in Austin, Texas. She is also survived by friends and Kauai chosen ohana Deirdre Layne, Jan Underhill, Linda Tani, Brenda and John Lee, Shawna Carol, Tom Cobb, Ken Jopling, Dennis Mendonca, Cindy Kester, Lainey Ruiz and others.
Born July 24, 1945, and raised in New York, she earned a master’s degree in photojournalism and film from the University of Texas at Austin. After living in Mexico and Boston, she was an assistant director in Hollywood for feature films and television series including “Touched By An Angel” and “Murder She Wrote.” Her smile, storytelling and laughter were contagious.
She had a special connection with Mother Mary, Mary Magdalene and Kuan Yin. She had journeys through the caves in southern France, communicating with Mother Mary. After several trips to Kauai she fell in love with the Garden Island and her people, moving here in 2012. An Olympic-trained swimmer, she loved swimming in the ocean at Hanalei and Kealia.
She was a photojournalist and fine arts photographer both on Hawaii and the Mainland. Her collection, “Where Our Loved Ones Sleep,” is a study of Kauai graveyards, portraying beautiful gravestones and the gifts left for those who have died but are lovingly remembered by family and friends.
Her friends, caregivers and ohana will gather to remember her amazing life and journey through death Saturday, March 3, at 3 p.m. at Hanalei Bay Beach Pavilion with music, a retrospective of her photography, paddle out, food and talk story.
