Anna and Ferdinand Toele are back, and the people are happy (Bridgette Orsatelli had her clan in tow at Missing Polynesia — who said she would kill ‘em at the Waimea Town Celebration?), and Lorraine Wichman and Kathy Beer were lightening their paycheck after work Friday).

Anna had Torie Hoopii (they always travel in threes) when Missing Polynesia is one of the pop-ups that opened at Kukui Grove Center in time for Valentine’s Day. Others are Small Fry, Pineapple Lily, and I No Fea’ with Vance Pascua and his ohana (who’s doing the temporary face painting today?).
Melissa McFerrin-Warrack (her son was having a ball with Steve Soltysik and the voyaging canoe models) said there are a whole bunch of Valentine’s Day activities today starting from 1 p.m. (she’s got some fancy Year of the Dog events next Sunday, too).
Mel Momohara, Cres Santos and Anthony Vea planned their coffee break at the right time because they could sample the demonstration breakfast (they still have advance tickets for the Feb. 18 American Culinary Federation breakfast fundraiser at many ticket outlets — look for the posters!) by Mark Oyama’s short-order student crew at Kauai Community College.
