William Kaumualii Montgomery

William Kaumualii Montgomery (aka Nane, Kunane, Monty, Bill), age 87, of Kapolei Oahu passed away on Jan. 4, 2018, at Kaiser Moanalua. He was born in Niumalu, Kauai and raised in Anahola, Kauai. He retired in 1995 from the Aloha Stadium as an assistant Events Manager. His last place of work was part-time in the cart barn for the Klipper Golf Course at the Marine Corp Base Hawaii in Kaneohe in 2016.
He graduated from Kapaa High School in 1948 and served in the Army from 1948-1954 having fought in the Korean War.
He is survived by wife, Gladys Kananiokamaluhia Moikeha Montgomery; sons, William Jr., Hugh Kalei (Susan), Alan Keawe (Kathy); daughters, Teri Kanani and Debbie Kamakanalani (deceased), 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Survived by brothers, George (Darlene), Junius, Lot; sister, Mokihana Smith (Walter).
Services at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Makakilo Stake Center (Oahu) on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018. Visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Services from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Burial at 1 p.m. at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery.
Gregorio C. Bunao
Gregorio C. Bunao, 57 years old of Kapaa, Kauai passed away on Jan. 14, 2018, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. He was born on June 4, 1960, in the Philippines.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fausto Bunao, Jr.; brother, Marcelino Bunao.
He is survived by his wife:, Cresencia Bunao of Kapaa; son, Erickson (Janice) Bunao of Kapaa; daughter, Catherine (Darwin) Laguit of Kapaa; grandchildren, Kristelle, Kamille and Kian Laguit, Jazleen and Edrick Padamada-Bunao; mother, Leonora Bunao of Kapaa,; brother:, Leopoldo (Nellie) Bunao of Kapaa; sister, Annabel (Eldy) Ragasa of Kapaa; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at St. Catherine’s church from 8 to 9:45 a.m. where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at St. Catherine’s Church cemetery. Casual attire

Edward Osmenia Pascua
Edward Osmenia Pascua, 77 years old of Lihue, Kauai, passed away on Dec. 17, 2017, in Lihue, Kauai. He was born on Dec. 6, 1940, in Lihue, Kauai he was a retired truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Pascua; son, Randall Pascua; parents, Toribio and Hilaria Pascua; brothers, Raymond and Ruodolfo Pascua; sister, Delfenia Pascua Borales.
He is survived by his sons:, Darall Pascua of Lihue, Edward (Lisa) Pascua of Hanamaulu, Wesley (Stacey) Pascua of Wailua; daughters, Abigail (Frank) Wright of Puhi, Vanessa Pascua of Lihue; grandchildren, Keanu Pascua, Preston Pascua, Pono Pascua, Kamalei Pascua, Austin Wright, Kaimana Wright, Kalen Nakaahiki, Kasen Sotelo, Blaise Pascua and Brysen Kualii; great-grandchild, Mason Pascua; brothers, Manuel Pascua of Wailua; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Angelo P. Concepcion
Angelo P. Concepcion, 72, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away on Feb. 2, 2018, in Rutherford County. He was born on Jan. 3, 1946, in Kilauea. He was a family man who proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco Sr. and Elizabeth Concepcion; brother, Francisco Concepcion Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Concepcion; sons, Alvin (Shanna) Concepcion, Shandler (Candis) Concepcion and stepson, David (Candice Marie) Minis; brothers, David (Chloe) Concepcion, Dan”Toboy” (Narcisa) Concepcion, Collin (Cecilia) Concepcion, Quintin”Tani” Concepcion; sisters, Bernadad (Fred Sr.) Imperial, Laverne (George”Bobo”) Inanod, Therese (Gerry) Madriaga; grandchildren, Kai, Kian, Shandler, David Shane, Angel; great-grandchild, Diamond; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Monica ‘Miki’ Nagahisa
Monica “Miki” Nagahisa of Wailua, Kauai, passed away in Providence St. Peter Hospital, WA, on Jan. 29, 2018, at the age of 69. She was born in Lihue, Kauai on Feb. 12, 1948, and worked as an Educational Assistant at Kapaa High School, in addition to fostering a multitude of disadvantaged/orphaned children. Miki was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Catherine Church. She loved to travel, spend time with her family, sew, cook, and most of all—her faith.
She was preceded in death by parents, Raymond X. Aki and Veronica E. Commons; brothers, Jerome (Beverly), Michael (Pearl), and Blaise (Carol) Aki; and sister, Claire Aki.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Albert Nagahisa, Jr.; sons, Jason (Veronica) Nagahisa, Kennison (Christy) Nagahisa, and Michael (Channel) Massad; daughters, Shelley (Daryn) Nagahisa-Ohta, Michelle Nagahisa, Kimi (Kalama) Nagahisa, and Kristy (Matt) Nagahisa; brothers, Raymond Aki of Florida, Matthew Aki of Maui, Timothy (Karumi) of Oahu, and Kevin Aki of Wisconsin; sisters, Maria (Fred) Orr of Mililani, Maureen (Richard) Carvalho of Ewa Beach, Seana Aki of Mililani, Veronica (Greg) Lindo of Wis., Anne (Ashbell) Park of Ariz., and Elizabeth (Michael) Manning of Wash.; 18 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Miki is remembered by many as a kind and generous soul who touched many people throughout her life. Her soul was a beautiful beacon of light that radiated to those around her. She walked in faith and not by sight, and firmly believed in love and forgiveness. Miki is deeply loved and missed.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at St. Catherine Parish in Kapaa. Viewing is at 9 a.m., commencing with a Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Reception to follow at the Coyle Hall.
God bless Miki and her family in this sorrowful time. I was her neighbor on Oahu at Halawa Heights. She was very close to my family! Rest in peace Aunty Miki !!
