Joe is the Rotary Club Exchange Student host family and has been to all of Finn’s basketball games. He said with Kauai High School winning the KIF boys basketball title, Finn will be on Oahu for the state games at the same time as Jacob Espi, the Rotary Exchange Student who plays for the Kapaa boys soccer team when the Warriors take part in the state soccer championships on Oahu.
More off-island Kauai connections are here because Sherri Ephan said Noah Takayama of the Waipahu High School baseball team (they’re participating in the Walter Souza Invitational baseball tournament that started Thursday) is the son of Tommy Takayama who played baseball for coach Walter Souza, and football with Coach Pat Perreira at Waimea, and Lorna Agosto Takayama who was a cheerleader and homecoming queen for Waimea.
We just want to go check out Mid Pacific Coach Dunn Muramaru whose brother Coach Gordon (ask him about the hidden ball trick) lives here.
Good luck to all the teams participating in the Walter Souza Invitational that plays its championship game Saturday at the Hanapepe Stadium.
