Charles Henry Kaipo Spencer
Charles Henry Kaipo Spencer, 76, of Hanalei, passed away on Jan. 11, 2018, at his home. Born on May 13, 1941, in Koloa, he was a retired County of Kauai fire fighter and taro farmer.
He was preceded in death by parents Sarah and Ashford Spencer Jr., brothers Ashford Kapahu and Earl Spencer Sr., and sister Bertha Huihui.
He is survived by wife Diana Kahiki Spencer, brother Ashford (Atsuko) Spencer, daughters Donna- Ann (Howard) Chamberlin and Leimomi (“Junior”) Spencer-Gacusan, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Feb. 10, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Hanalei from 9 to 10:30 a.m., where services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Hanalei Community Cemetery in Hanalei Valley.
The family suggest casual attire.
Borthwick Kauai Mortuary assisted the family with arraignments.
