Lions Clubs members on Kauai will be out in force Saturday for the annual Lions In Sight Eyeglass Collection iniative.
The used eyeglass collection will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
East Kauai Lions will man the collection site at the Kukui Grove Center near the entrance to Long’s QVC, the Kauai Lions will be at the entrance to Walmart, the Kapaa Lions will be at the Big Save Times Supermarket in the Kapaa Shopping Center, the Koloa Lions will have a table at Sueoka Store, the West Kauai Lions will be stationed at the Big Save Times Supermarket at the Eleele Shopping Center.
The used eyewear will be cleaned, processed, and shipped to areas in need.
Last year, eyeglasses were shipped to the Philippines, and in other collections, the eyewear was shipping to areas affected by natural disasters such as hurricanes and earthquakes.
