LANETT, Ala. (AP) — Authorities have charged a man with capital murder in a nightclub shooting that police say left two people dead and seven others wounded in Alabama.
Court records show 20-year-old Daron Mykel Dafney is jailed without bond in a shooting early Sunday at Club Addiction, located near the Georgia line in Lanett.
Court documents show Dafney is charged in the slaying of Tashina Paulette Davis. A complaint says she was killed with a .40-caliber firearm while in a car.
Lanett police say a gunman went to the nightclub and opened fire, wounding seven people and fatally injuring a man and a woman. They haven’t released a possible motive.
Defense attorney Mark Carlton said Friday he was just appointed to represent Dafney and doesn’t have enough details to comment.
