In this Oct. 5, 2017 photo, Betzaida Ferrer talks about how she moved to Puerto Rico a few months ago to enjoy a peaceful retirement, and how Hurricane Maria changed her plans, in Miami Beach, Fla. “I am in limbo right now,” said Ferrer, a 74-year-old who had only moved to Puerto Rico from Miami in July and now finds herself back again, now without a place to live. She is now trying to find a job to make up for the money she lost on her place on the island. “To be in a situation like this where you need help is horrible ,” said Ferrer, who is staying with friends and taking a three-hour a day training program to help her find a job.
