ATHENS, Greece (AP) — A late goal by Guillermo Molins helped Panathinaikos avoid an upset defeat at newcomer Lamia in the Greek league on Saturday.
Molins equalized in the 85th minute, assisted by Lucas Villafanez’s defense-splitting pass. Molins almost scored the winner but his injury-time shot hit the crossbar.
Niklas Hult gifted Lamia the opener with an own goal in the first half. His goal-line clearance bounced off fellow defender Ousmane Coulibaly and his second clearance attempt rolled into the net.
Panathinaikos, in seventh place, is still without an away win. Lamia is 12th.
Also, Kerkyra beat Panetolikos 1-0 and Levadiakos drew at home with Giannena 1-1, catching AEK in second place.
League leader PAOK will be tested at defending champion Olympiakos on Sunday, while AEK hosts Atromitos on Monday.
