KOLOA – The Department of Water recently held a blessing ceremony to commence the Koloa Well 16 A and 16 B Site and Building Improvements Project in Koloa.
“This project will provide significant improvements to the Koloa Well 16 site that support the current and future developments, such as the affordable housing projects being planned in the area,” said Dustin Moises, DOW’s chief of construction management.
The Koloa Well 16 A & 16 B Site and Building Improvements Project is part of the DOW’s Water Plan 2020, a comprehensive long-range plan that addresses the need to upgrade aging infrastructures on Kauai.
Work will be located within the existing well site and includes new installation of a well pump, discharge piping and a disinfection system.
The project will also include new construction of a motor control center and control building in addition to various site improvements to address aging infrastructure issues.
The construction contract was awarded to Unlimited Construction, Inc. in the amount of $3.5 million.
