FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — New York Jets running back Matt Forte remains sidelined with turf toe and a knee ailment, and could miss his second straight game.
Coach Todd Bowles says Thursday that it would be unlikely Forte will play at Cleveland on Sunday if he doesn’t participate in practice on Friday. Bilal Powell started in Forte’s place last weekend and ran for a career-high 163 yards in the Jets’ 23-20 win over Jacksonville.
Wide receiver Robby Anderson missed practice for the second straight day for personal reasons, but Bowles says he will play Sunday.
Defensive end Kony Ealy, who had an interception and four passes defensed against the Jaguars, sat out with a sore shoulder. Linebacker Josh Martin (ankle) and cornerback Darryl Roberts (hamstring) also didn’t practice.
Defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson (shoulder), cornerback Juston Burris (foot) and tight end Jordan Leggett (knee) were all limited.
