MOUNT PLEASANT, Pa. (AP) — A Pennsylvania man has been jailed on homicide charges in the death of a woman who was reported missing after she failed to appear at her mother’s cancer fundraiser last month.
Thirty-two-year-old Thomas Teets, of Dawson, was arraigned Thursday on charges including criminal homicide, evidence tampering, and abusing the corpse of 31-year-old Leah Owens.
The Bullskin Township woman was reported missing after she missed the Sept. 16 fundraiser. Her body has not been found.
A criminal complaint says a friend claims Teets acknowledged killing Owens and getting rid of her body. The complaint says Teets said in a conversation that because police “don’t got no body, there will be no case.”
Online court records don’t list an attorney for Teets.
