KAPAA — The Community Emergency Response Team will be holding a series of training courses in Kapaa starting this week.
Classes will be held from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. every Wednesday from Oct. 4 through Nov. 8, at the St. Catherine School cafeteria, 5021 Kawaihau Road, Kapaa.
CERT is a six-week disaster and emergency preparedness course tailored to citizens and taught by firefighters. It is free to residents as part of a program sponsored by the Kauai Fire Department and the Kauai Emergency Management Agency.
Participants will learn about different types of disasters and how to prepare and respond.
