LIHU’E — Eastside teams won six out of the seven American Youth Soccer
Organization Will Veeck Tournament championships last weekend at Hanapepe and
Vidinha Stadiums.
Wailua won the Girls Under-12, Boys Under-12 and Under-16
titles, while Kilauea captured the Boys Under-14 championship.
Kapa’a was
the tourney champion in the Girls Under-14 and Girls Under-19
Divisions.
Kalaheo in the Boys Under-19 Division was the only Westside
team to earn a Will Veeck championship.
The Will Veeck Tournament is the
island-wide championship. Four teams qualify in each division — the champions
and runner-ups from the Eastside Region 941 and Westside Region 940.

Kilauea in Boys Under-14, and Wailua in Boys Under-16.
Hanalei was the
Region 941 champion in Boys Under-12 Boys, while Kilauea was the Region 941
champion in Girls Under-19.
Region 940 championship teams are: Lihu’e in
Girls Under-12, Girls Under-14, Boys Under-16, and Girls Under-19; Koloa in
Boys Under-14 and Boys Under-19; and Waimea in Boys Under-12.
