Toribio “Capitan” Fronda Ceria of Koloa died Dec. 22,1999, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 92. An irrigator for Grove Farm, he was born April 27, 1907, in the Philippines.
He is survived by his wife: Ursula Utrila Ceria of Koloa; two daughters: Mary (Robert, Sr.) Williams of Koloa and Tese (Martin) Lugo of Omao; two sons: Milton (Adriane) Ceria of Po’ipu and Terrance “Kimo” Ceria of Koloa; one sister: Maria (Eugenio) Utrila of the Philippines and one brother: Severo (Margaret) Ceria of O’ahu; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 28, at Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation will be again on Wednesday, Dec. 29, at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Koloa from 8 a.m. service to start at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Koloa Public Cemetery. Father Felix to celebrate the Mass. Casual attire is suggested.

Hanayo Oba
Hanayo Oba of Papaikou, died at her home on Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999, at the age of 89. A housewife, she was born March 1, 1910, in Amauulu.
Friends may call Wednesday, Dec. 29, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m at the Dodo Mortuary Chapel. A funeral service will be said at 5 p.m. The family suggests casual attire and that flowers be omited.
She is survived by three sons: Yoichi Oba of Papaikou, Harold Tadashi (Lily) Oba of California, and Charles (Helen) Oba of Hilo; five daughters: Hatsuno “Lillian” (Takeyoshi) Fujimoto of Ninole, Shigeno “Shirley” (Takeshi) Kawamoto of Papaikou, Harriet (James) Huber of Las Vegas, Gladys (Frank) Lopez of Hilo and formerly of Kaua’i; and Karen Oba (Richard Davis) of California; several numerous nephews and nieces and lots of family members on Kauai; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
