The Kilauea Seniors participated this Christmas Season in the Kaua Fire
Department/Pacific Missile Range Facility “Toys for Tots” Roundup of new toys
to be distributed to needy families so their children will have a happy
Christmas. Toys included stocking stuffers, stuffed animals, dolls, trucks,
books, games and puzzles.
On Wednesday, Dec. 15, Kilauea seniors held their
annual installation of officers for the Year 2,000. Officers installed were:
Bob Orlik, President, Evelyn Sanders, Vice President, Dorothy Song, Secretary,
Ellen Rapozo, Treasurer, Pracedes Busto and Misao Tamura, Sgt.-at-Arms.
Following the installation seniors enjoyed a delicious luncheon served at the
Wailua Family Restaurant, where a grab bag gift exchange was held.
Upcoming
events for Kilauea Senior Center are the Membership Drive Open House in
February and Plant, Rummage and Bake Sale in the spring.
Kilauea seniors
are now rehearsing for the Extravaganza “Kokua our Kupuna,” which will be
performed in January at the Kaua’i War Memorial Convention Hall.
