boys basketball Tuesday night in a 39-31 tripping of the Kapa’a
Warriors.
The Menehunes improved to 4-1 in the victory.
Kapa’a dropped
to 2-3.
Waimea led 20-17 at the half, but then started to walk away with it
in the third quarter by outscoring Kapa’a 10-4 to take a 30-21 lead.
Winnie
Arios powered the Menehune attack with 18 points, while Darwin Tutop added
eight points in the low-scoring contest.
Arios canned a pair of
treys.
Kapa’a got 16 points from Kaili Panui and six from Dahson
Gonzales.
The junior varsity season continues this Friday at 5:30 p.m. when
the Kaua’i Red Raiders (1-3) visit the Menehunes at the Waimea gym.
