Judy Ann Stone of Hanapepe died on Jan. 2, 2000 at Queens Hospital at the age of 49. Born in San Diego, California, she lived on Kaua’i since 1980.
Judy was known for her thoughtfulness and the help she gave to others. Her giving attitude was shown both in the jobs she held as well as the activities she participated in. Many loved her for her humor, her energy, her caring for friends and the love she had for her family.
During her 20 years on Kaua’i, which she loved along with the people, she worked for Papillion Helicopters, Honolulu Publishing, Menehune Helicopters, Cooks on the Beach, The Garden Island, The Kaua’i Times, the Kaua’i County Housing Agency, Wedding coordinator at Coco Palms and as Concierge at the Westin Hotel. Most recently she was a Real Estate Broker for Timeshare Resale’s Hawai’i in Koloa.
She is survived by her three children, Luther H Burney III, Lauren Nicole Burney and Corey Keala Takiguchi, all of Kaua’i, and her mother Pauline Crowell of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Friends of Judy and her family are invited to celebrate her life on Saturday, Jan. 15, at Borthwick Kaua’i Mortuary in Koloa. Reception will be from 9 – 11 a.m. with services beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Hanapepe Cemetery. The family suggests casual attire.
