Outrigger Beach Hotel to Anahola Bay on Kaua’i’s east coast after tar balls
began washing on to the shore.
Public warning signs are being posted by the
DOH.
The tar balls were first reported to the DOH at approximately 9:30
a.m. Wednesday morning and continue to impact the coast. The public is advised
to stay away from beach areas until warning signs are removed.
Health
department officials and the Coast Guard are presently investigating the origin
of the tar balls and the extent of the problem.
