Tomix Badua Balisacan of Hanama’ulu died Jan. 4, 2000, at his home in Hanama’ulu at the age of 68. A groundskeeper for Kaua’i Lagoons, he was born May 16, 1931, in the Philippines.
He is survived by his wife: Maria Butin Balisacan of Hanama’ulu; two daughters: Lolita Tarona of Hanama’ulu and Martina (Vic) Gano of Hanama’ulu; two sons: Virgilio (Connie) Balisacan of Puhi and Salvador (Sheila) Balisacan of Hanama’ulu; brothers and sisters: Francisco (Nicasia) Balisacan, Salome (Miguel) Balisacan and Mauricio (Rosa) Balisacan, all of Kaua’i; Florida Ganotisi of the Philippines, Felicidad Calabucal and Fortunata (Quirino) Dumayas, both of Honolulu, eight grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends and family may call on Friday, Jan. 7, at Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary Chapel from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and again on Saturday, Jan. 8, at Holy Cross Church in Kalhaeo from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., where services will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Lihu’e Public Cemetery. The family requests casual attire and that flowers be omitted.

Norman N. Yoshimura
Norman N. Yoshimura, Ph.D., formerly of Kaua’i, died at Irvine Medical Center on Dec. 15, 1999, at the age of 63.
The Senior Vice President and Chief Scientist of B. Braun/McGaw, Inc. in Irvine, California, he was born Aug. 20, 1936, in Kapa’a. During his 41-year career in the pharmaceutical industry, he authored and co-authored 81 scientific publications. Dr. Yoshimura is known worldwide for his expertise in the formulation and development of nutritional intravenous fluids.
He is survived by his wife Jeanette, daughters Linda and Kathryn, one grandson, brothers Kenneth and Allen and sisters Ethel and Irene.
Bernaldo (Benny) Nadoza
Bernaldo (Benny) Nadoza of Waimea, formerly of Honolulu, died Dec. 23, 1999, at Queen’s Medical Center at the age of 77. Born Dec. 17, 1922, in Kona, he was a retired dye man for Joe Pacific Shoe Repair Shop for 30 years and considered by many the best dye man in the shoe business.
He is survived by his sons, Leonard Nadoza of Anahola and Sidney Nadoza of Honolulu; daughters, Jeraldine (Richard) Masumoto of Koloa, Roseann (Percival) Fontecha of San Diego, Calif. and Sharon (Wayne) Lopez of Kalaheo; brother Fred Nadoza of Honolulu; sister, Idad Simbahon of O’ahu; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
Private services were held.
Arrangements were handled by Borthwick Mortuary.
Tadao Kawamoto
Tadao Kawamoto of Po’ipu, Kaua’i, died at home on Dec. 24, 2000, at the age of 89. Born in Kukuiula, Kaua’i on April 2, 1911, he was a retired Barber with Modern Barbershop.
He is survived by: his wife: Lillian Kawamoto of Po’ipu, Kaua’i; one son, three daughters, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Koloa Hongwanji Mission; service officiated by Rev. Ikeda will begin at 10 a.m. Casual attire is suggested.

Shogo Yodogawa
Shogo Yodogawa, of Kalaheo, Kaua’i, died at home on Dec. 22, 2000, at the age of 70. Born in Port Allen, Kaua’i on July 30, 1930, he was a retired Plumber with McBryde Sugar Co.
He is survived by: his wife: Eiko Yodogawa of Kalaheo, Kaua’i; son: Wayne Yodogawa of Kalaheo, Kaua’i; sister: Yukie (Mitsugi) Inaba of Kona, Big Island; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Service were private.
