Mildred K. Fujii, of Lihu’e, Kauai, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Jan. 30, 2000, at the age of 82. Born in Koloa, Kauai on Feb. 27, 1917, she was a retired Bank Teller with Bank of Hawaii, Lihu’e;.
She is survived by: her husband: Daihichi Fujii of Lihu’e, Kauai; three sons: Leslie (Nancy) Fujii, Dwight (Lois) Fujii, and Floyd (Galyn) Fujii, all of Lihu’e; one daughter: Janice (Gerald) Chung of Aiea, Oahu; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 2, at the Lihu’e Christian Church. Service officiated by Rev. Kevin Page will begin at 5 p.m. Casual attire is suggested and that flowers be omitted.

John Whitney
John Whitney of Lihu’e died Jan. 28, 2000, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 59. A maintenanceman for Tip Top and K-mart, he was born May 30, 1940, in Hilo, Hawaii.
He is survived by one daughter: Coleen (Francis) Hirota of O’ahu; one brother: Sonny Soloman Whitney of Hilo; four sisters: Phobe Adular of Hilo, Hatlie Whitney, Emelia Cabral of Hilo, and Annie Laimana, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call on Wednesday, Feb. 2, at Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 8 a.m. to 10:25 a.m. where services will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Kaua’i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe. Casual attire is suggested.

Beatrice Whitney
Beatrice Mier Whitney of Lihu’e died Jan. 29, 2000, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 64. A waitress for Tip Top Restaurant, she was born March 8, 1935, in ‘Ele’ele.
She is survived by one daughter: Coleen (Francis) Hirota of O’ahu; two sisters: Carol Bigno of ‘Ele’ele and Ramona Nakaahiki of Kekaha; two brothers: Sam Mier of Colorado and Joe Bigay of California; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
