POIPU—Once is just not enough when you’re playing Kaua`i’s pretigious Poipu
Bay Golf Course, home to the PGA Grand Slam of Golf. The course has introduced
a special golf package for Kaua`i visitors who want to play the course more
than once during their stay here.
The Grand Slam Package, available now
through December 19 of this year, offers three rounds of golf at the Poipu Bay
Course for a discounted price, on condition that all three rounds must be
completed within 10 days following the date of purchase.
The Grand Slam
Package includes green fees for three rounds of golf, along with cart, use of
the GPS (global positioning system), and driving range. For guests staying at
the adjacent Hyatt Regency Kaua`i Resort, the cost of the golf package is $270
(plus tax) per person; for non-Hyatt guests, the cost is $330 (plus tax) per
person. The price represents a substantial discount off the single-round green
fee, which is $115 for Hyatt guests and $155 for non-Hyatt guests.
Poipu
Bay features an 18-hole championship course on 210 oceanfront acres of Kaua`i’s
southern coast. It is the only course on Kaua`i—and one of the few in the
state, to provide an in-cart color monitor satellite tracking system (GPS) to
help golfers navigate the course improve their score, and increase their
enjoyment of the game.
A Robert Trent Jones, Jr. design, Poipu Bay has,
over the years, won numerous awards and has been consistently rated among the
top golf courses in Hawai`i and the United States.
Poipu Bay has, since
1994, played host to the annual PGA Grand Slam of Golf, the tournament that
invites the winners of the four major championships of that year to compete for
a $1 million purse.
