2000, at the age of 94.
Born in Hanapepe, Kaua’i on Nov. 17, 1905, she is
survived by: one son: Melvin (Lillian) Murakami of Honolulu, O’ahu; five
daughters: Madeline (Kikuo) Kageno of Honolulu, O’ahu, Ruth (Harry) Takaki of
Los Angeles, Calif., Betty (Charles) Moriguchi of Kekaha, Kauai, Gladys
(Clarence) Katena of Honolulu, O’ahu, and Gertrude (Tsunao) Saiki of Kalaheo,
Kaua’i; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Sueko Kawane of
Hanapepe, Kaua’i and Misue (Toshio) Ishida of Numila, Kaua’i; numerous nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 4 p.m. on
Thursday, June 15, at the West Kauai Hongwanji Mission, Hanapepe Temple;
service officiated by Rev. Ikeda will begin at 5 p.m. Casual attire is
suggested and flowers omitted.

Masato “Mac” Hashimoto of Puhi,
Kaua’i, died at Hale Omao Care Home on June 10, 2000, at the age of 93.
Born in Halehaka, Kaua’i on April 3, 1907, he was a retired Service Truck
Driver with Grove Farm Sugar Co.
He is survived by: three sons, Alvin
(Dorothy) Hashimoto of Las Vegas, Nev., Melvin (Martha) Hashimoto of Los
Angeles, Calif., and Leslie (Margaret) Hashimoto of Lihu’e, Kaua’i; three
daughters: Elaine (Lawrence) Kashiwabara of Lihu’e, Kaua’i, Eileen (Wilfred)
Shimomura of Honolulu, O’ahu, and Marlene (Herbert) Lum of Los Angeles; 10
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers: Tadaso (Kikue)
Hashimoto of ‘Oma’o, Kaua’i, Rupert (Helen) Hashimoto of Honolulu, O’ahu, and
Sueo Hashimoto of Lihu’e, Kaua’i; one sister: Asayo Sakahara of Fairfax, VA;
numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

by Rev. Motoyoshi will begin at 5 p.m. Casual attire is suggested and flowers
