The U.S. Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) will be holding
tryouts on four of the Hawaiin Islands during August and September. The program
will come to Kaua’i Aug. 25-27.
Boys born between 1983 and 1988 are
eligible for the tryouts, as are girls born between 1984 and 1988. Cost for the
weekend’s worth of tryout is $100. The tryout will be held at Anahola Park from
3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the 25th, and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the 26th and
27th.
Should a player be selected from the island tryouts,
advancement to the Hawaii state tryouts will ensue. Cost of the state event is
$125.

AYSO Kaua’i Futsal
Cup
Players from Waimea to Hanalei participated in July’s Futsal Cup at the
Kapa’a Beach Park. The Lihue girls, coached by Alison Agena, took Under-12
first place. The Kapa’a girls grabbed the second spot.
The Blellows,
coached by Pete Oliver, finished at the top of the Under-14 boys’ category.
Kalaeho placed second.
