AN OBSERVER at the Annual Richard Kawakami golf tournament observed that with
some 250 golfers participating in this annual fund-raising fun-filled event,
the tournament has got to be Kaua`i’s biggest local tournament. The event,
which features support from numerous sponsors (shown here with the Kawakami
ohana prior to the Shotgun Start) provides funds for non-profit groups such as
the Kaua`i Hospice and numerous other agencies. The tournament was played at
the Kaua`i Lagoons Golf Course and featured many off-island people winging in
for the event that ended with a get-together at the Terrace Restaurant at the
Kaua`i Lagoons.
